It’s been a long while since we’ve done anything with the request system, and with old technologies being thrown out for newer and more efficient technologies, I think it’s time for us to move to a better (and faster) system for handling radio requests.
I’ve been trying to create this new system for a while now, and it’s still in development, so consider this a beta.
To access the new system before release, go to http://reqdev.bronydom.net/
Because this is a beta release, there are some known issues, which are listed below:
- Searching is fuzzy, and we mean real fuzzy. Sometimes you’ll get the song you’re looking for, but sometimes our means of searching will return hundreds of results other than the song you’re looking for. This is going to be changed to a better algorithm once I figure out how it works.
- When you enter something into the search dialog on a slow connection, it will struggle to get the result quickly, as our new system dynamically searches through our API (and each letter you type in will try loading the API again). We will fix this once the search algorithm is fixed.
- … nothing else so far! But we’ll keep you all updated!
This request system won’t overwrite the older one until it’s at a stable enough state to remove the beta status, so you can still access the older one at https://req.bronydom.net
